The Five Pillars of Virtuous Leadership Course

A good organization - one that is led by a great leader who is dedicated to building the Common Good, nourishing the Five Major Cares, and changing the world - is built upon good virtues. However, there is a scale to each one of these ideals. You might be overzealous when it comes to demanding loyalty from your constituents or you could be uncaring when it comes to showing sympathy for your employees. You never want to turn the dial over ten, but you certainly don’t want to keep it at zero either.

When you as an aspiring leaders are faced with making a decision, you should aim to respond in a manner that is consistent with your virtues. To keep this level of consistency, all your decisions should be made with a certain balance of the following five virtues: Empathy, Anger, Advice, Courage, and Transcendence. Combined, these five virtues make up your Eaactive Virtues.

As a leader, you must act with virtue in all that you do. Without virtue, all the other elements of leadership would fail. Elements like trust, confidence, loyalty, sympathy, and integrity all have their basis in virtue.

Your virtues are your firm and habitual dispositions to do good.

Eaactive Leaders use a balance of the five Eaactive Virtues in order to respond to any situation in a manner that showcases the nurturing of the Five Major Cares: care for others, care for the community, care for important institutions, care for mother nature, and care for dignified capital.

The Five Pillars of Virtuous Leadership Course will dive head first into each one of these ideals and showcase how you can use the right balance of each one in any scenario in order to produce the best outcomes for your followers, employees, congregations, or constituents.

Leaders should never get too high or too low. In most instances, leaders should lead right down the middle.
